ISMAANA

ISMAANA is an alumni organization for graduates of the Indian School of Mines residing in North America. The organization is focused on continuing and fostering the fellowship developed among individual during their stay at the Indian School of Mines.

ISMAANA was established in the United States of America as a non profit organization in July of 1986 under section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The key missions that the organization strives to achieve are:

A] Bring the Indian School of Mines (ISM) alumni together in North America and build a strong fellowship between the members and families.

B] Establish continuous, efficient and effective means of communication and cooperation with the alma mater – Indian School of Mines (ISM).

C] Help the current students in ISM and in North America in all ways possible.

D] Be the catalyst in communications and cooperation between the ISM alumni associations spread across the world.

 

ISMAANA general body consists of Members and Associate Members:

(1) Member: Every person who has received a graduate or post-graduate diploma or degree from the School or any person who had been in the teaching body of the School shall become a Member on payment of annual dues.

(2) Associate Member: Any person who is not eligible as a Member may be elected as an Associate Member upon making application provided:

• (i) He / She maintains a bonafide interest in fulfilling the objectives of the Chapter,
• (ii) He / She is recommended by at least two Members for acceptance to the Chapter,
• (iii) He / She pay the annual dues with the application.

 

Governance in ISMAANA:

The functioning of ISMAANA is governed by an Executive Committee comprising of the five Executive Members and six Board Members, with a three-year term. The Executive Committee consists of:

(1) the Chairman

(2) the Vice-Chairman

(3) the Secretary

(4) the Assistant Secretary

(5) the Treasurer

(6) Six (6) Board Members
